Prime Minister Balendra Shah has directed the concerned bodies to make effective the rescue, relief, infrastructure restoration and rehabilitation work by conducting an on-site inspection of the flood-affected Bidur Municipality and surrounding areas of Nuwakot. Prime Minister Shah had reached Nuwakot by road at 9:30 am along with Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal. After visiting the settlements in the affected areas and observing the physical damage caused by the flood, the team he led returned to Kathmandu.

After the flood from Bhotekoshi in Rasuwa caused damage to the areas around the river, Prime Minister Shah has been continuously coordinating with the concerned bodies, prioritizing rescue and relief management. Necessary instructions were also given through a high-level meeting regarding the situation after the flood. During the visit to Nuwakot, the Prime Minister’s team took first-hand information about the physical condition of the affected area and discussed the damage and rescue and relief situation with the local administration, security agencies and people’s representatives. During the discussion, Prime Minister Shah had directed the concerned parties to provide immediate relief to the displaced families, to bring the roads and other infrastructure blocked due to the flood into operation as soon as possible, and to accelerate the long-term rehabilitation of the affected areas. Based on the details obtained from the on-site inspection, the Prime Minister has emphasized that along with the immediate relief management, the restoration of damaged structures and the rehabilitation of the affected community should be taken forward.
