The International Nepalese Arts Society (INAS) hosted a special felicitation ceremony in Baltimore, Maryland, to honor the remarkable, multifaceted contributions of Dr. Khem Bahadur Chhetri (PhD).INAS President Shanti Bhandari officially presented an appreciation letter to Dr. Chhetri during the high-profile event held on June 9, 2026.
The ceremony brought together community members, artists, and a Maryland State Delegate who attended as a special guest.Dr. Chhetri is widely recognized for his unique life path, which seamlessly bridges elite sports, academic scholarship, military service, and creative arts. His major milestones include:Athletics: Shining on the international stage as a South Asian Gold Medalist.Academia & Literature: Earning a PhD in Human Rights and authoring the philosophical book “Survival Politics,” currently available on Amazon.
Military Service: Serving his country and global peace initiatives as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Nepalese Army and through multiple UN peacekeeping missions.The Arts: Expressing his creativity as an accomplished artist and playback singer.During the event, Dr. Chhetri took the stage to share insights from his diverse journey. He spoke passionately about his experiences in sports, music, and the military, emphasizing the vital importance of preserving traditional art, culture, and survival heritage.
